Beware anyone who is looking at getting information about colleges online.
You know when you get the junk mail about finding colleges online, and about more information.......



Your email gets loaded down with all kinds of offers from several colleges,
You receive phone calls asking what kind of information or courses you are wanting to take up.........



Some will oblige by just sending the information you have requested,
where others will have you Enrolled to start classes before any of the financing has gone through!



The excitement builds, oh boy! I am going back to school.......
My classes have already been set up for me, and I start in 3 days!



No Kidding!



When you try to put a halt to the speediness of their procedure you get the talk that if it is financing, we can get it for you... You have 6 months after you have graduated before you have to start paying back any loans. A then if it is not possible for you to start paying back, you can ask for a deferment on the loan.......



Some other comments you may receive, You are already enrolled to start classes tomorrow.......
I don't truly believe you were serious about continuing your education,
if you don't tell us why you don't want to continue with the enrollment prosess then we can not help you get started..........



It doesn't matter what your reasons are for not wanting to explore further, they will come back with it as being an inadequate reason.... All coming down to You were truly not serious about continuing your education.........



They then have another person give you a call to see if there is anything they can do to make this transition better for you....... You are set to Start classes, and if it is Time that is holding you back, you only have 1 class and you can set your own pace.......



Being of the Baby Boomer Era - I look at my mortgage, adding another 50,000.00 ontop of that, and I am buried for life.......
With income making me ineligible for a Pell Grant, this means Loans........



Yes, furthering my education would pay off, and making the re-payment possible - But it doesn't Feel Right!



Still looking into other possibilities, such as the same Degree else where, but for only 7,000.00 - 10,000.00 - Oh Boy! What a difference money Makes!



If you are going to spend that much money, check to see what the schools Retention rate is!!!

CONTINUING EDUCATION

I AM LOOKING AT MY OPTIONS OUT THERE. TRYING TO GET ANOTHER JOB IN THE FIELD I AM IN NOW. WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF MY JOB BECOMING OBSOLETE, WHICH SEEMS TO BE MORE THAN A POSSIBILITY. WITH WAL-MART POPPING UP EVERYWHERE, THIS IS MAKING IT HARDER FOR THE "OLD FASHIONED" MEAT CUTTER IN THE SMALLER GROCERY STORES.





DO I GO FOR A TOTALLY DIFFERENT TYPE OF JOB AND WHAT IS OUT THERE? RIGHT NOW THERE ISN'T MUCH, WITH ALL THE LAY OFFS AND PLACES CLOSING DOWN. SO ANOTHER OPTION IS GOING BACK TO SCHOOL. THIS SEEMS A PRETTY SCARY PROSPECT, RACKING UP A 50,000.00 BILL, SURE YOU CAN GET THIS PAID OFF WITH GRANTS, BUT YOU ALSO HAVE LOANS. THAT OF COURSE WONT BE DUE TO BE PAID ON UNTIL YOU ARE DONE WITH SCHOOL.





BUT IN THE BACK OF YOUR MIND YOU'RE THINKING, WHAT IF I BOMB? MIND SET, BOMBING OUT IS NOT AN OPTION. PRESSURE, PRESSURE, PRESSURE. AND IT'S CALLED LIFE!

LETTING YOU GO

"Letting You Go", "Fired", "Terminated", "Finito" - all the same, You are out of a job!


Right now I want to THANK YOU! for "letting me go" - So I am finding myself like so many other people, in the Unemployment line........02/03/10



Recieved my "Termination Letter" in the mail today.... I know this is a matter of wages vs what the company was bring in, Not my compentency of doing my job... It is the slowest time of the year and these people just don't get it! - Along with too many fingers and heads in the pot.
They have a replacement that started the next day, whom I think will give them a run for their money! And in the end They will be wondering WTF did we do...


It is going to be a case of who can pull the wool over who's eyes first! I can't wait to see how this unfolds. But of course for the next few months it will fall back to me, as being the incompetent one!....02/03/10



Why is it that an Employee is expected to give a 2 weeks notice, but the Employer can have you work your shift, then tell you you're done that day???
